CENTENNIAL CAMPUS
James B. Hunt Jr. Library
NC State’s award winning library
Hunt Library is NC State’s award-winning library. It was built to provide unique, beautiful, collaborative study spaces for students and researchers. You can reserve study rooms for group projects, and you can find comfy chairs for reading and studying and quiet spaces for researching and writing.
On the first floor, you can see the automated book delivery system that we call the bookBot. A robotic arm retrieves books which are delivered in minutes. The bookBot holds up to 2 million volumes in one-ninth of the space of regular shelving, enabling the library to provide study rooms and technology spaces.
On the second floor is the Institute for Emerging Issues, which connects North Carolinians across sectors, regions, and perspectives for collaborative work on key emerging issues affecting our state economy. The second floor is also the main entrance to the library leading to nearly 100 bookable study rooms, the game lab, music and media production rooms, maker space and many more exciting and thought-provoking spaces available to all students.
