SAS Hall
Home of the Mathematics and Statistics Departments
Spanning over 119,000 square feet, SAS Hall is a vibrant hub for the mathematics and statistics departments, featuring classrooms, computer labs, tutorial centers and dedicated study spaces. The building sits on the historic grounds of Riddick Stadium, NC State’s football home from 1907 to 1968, named for Wallace Carl Riddick, who coached the Wolfpack in 1898 and 1899.
All students taking math or statistics courses at NC State will spend time in SAS Hall, which also offers unique opportunities to collaborate with faculty on undergraduate research, making it a center for both learning and discovery.

3D Tour Description
SAS Hall is a modern academic building at NC State that emphasizes functionality, visibility and connection between instructional and shared spaces. The interior is designed with a clean, contemporary aesthetic, combining bright, window-lined corridors with open lobby areas and large lecture environments.
The hallways are wide and accessible, with polished floors and a mix of natural light and overhead lighting. In several corridors, floor-to-ceiling windows provide views of surrounding campus buildings and landscaped outdoor spaces, creating a bright and open atmosphere. Seating areas with benches and small tables are positioned along the walls, offering informal spaces for waiting, studying or conversation. Classroom and office entrances line the corridors, with clear pathways that support easy navigation throughout the building.
The building also includes large tiered lecture halls designed for group instruction. The rooms feature rows of fixed seating that rise toward the back, with central aisles and steps leading down to a front teaching area equipped with a podium and presentation technology.
Connecting these spaces are open lobby areas with high ceilings, expansive glass entryways and modern finishes such as tile flooring and wood-paneled walls. These areas include casual seating, tables and access to stairways and building exits, serving as transition points between classrooms and common areas.
